Nayanthara has been part of the film industry nearly two decades now with a long list of hit films under her belt. She has played all kinds of roles in her acting career and has established a strong name for herself in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. In recent conversation, the actress has addressed the rumours of plastic surgery.

Nayanthara: You can pinch me, burn me

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Nayanthara finally breaks her silence on plastic surgery rumours. She has said that there have no cosmetic procedures, the changes and variations are only due to her diet.

She said that, “It’s not that it’s wrong, but for me, it has just been diet. There’s been a lot of weight fluctuation and my cheeks go in and out. You can pinch me, burn me and you’ll know there is no plastic in here”. For the unversed, the lady superstar has reduced her body weight significantly after her early days in the industry, which reportedly sparked several rumours regarding plastic surgery.

Nayanthara’s journey to stardom

Nayanthara made her career debut with 2003 film Manassinakkare. Post her debut, there has been noticeable transformation over the years. By 2010, Nayanthara is one of leading female stars and some of her other notable films where her character drove the narrative are Imaikaa Nodigal, Aramm, Thirunaal and Love Action Drama. The years of 2020 and 2021 saw Nayanthara appeared alongside big stars like Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth, which reaffirmed her superstar status. 

Nayanthara was last seen in Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food in 2023. The film faced backlash for it controversial remarks about Lord Ram and also promotes love jihad. It follows the story of a daughter of a temple cook who goes against her family’s wishes. Directed by Nilesh Krishnaa, the film also features Kartik Kumar, Poornima Ravi, Jai, Losliya Mariyanesan, Sathyaraj and Redin Kingsley among others.
