Jani Master Booked For Rape: Telugu Film Body TFCC Initiates Action Against Stree 2 Choreographer
Popular choreographer Jani Master has been booked for sexually assaulting and rape case of a 21-year-old colleague. An FIR has been lodged against him.
Jani Master Rape Case: Choreographer Shaik Jani Basha has landed in legal trouble. He is one of the highest-paid choreographers in the industry and has worked on popular songs such as Aayi Nahi from Stree 2, Buttaboma and Rowdy Baby. Jani has been accused of rape and sexual assault of 21-year-old girl. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) has stated that they have received several complaints regarding Jani Master and will take action against it soon.
TFCC issues a statement on Jani Master's sexual assault case
In a new statement, The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has stated that they are setting up a redressal committee to address concerns regarding Jani Master. The governing body has stated that they have set up a sexual harassment redressal committee to look into the matters. They have now issued a strong statement regarding this.
A part of their statement reads, “The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has received a sexual harassment complaint from a choreographer who is a member of Telugu Film & TV Dancers & Dance Directors Association, and the same has been referred to the sexual harassment redressal panel of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.” They have also argued that an enquiry is ongoing in the matter.
TFCC has launched an enquiry as per the POSH act against Jani Master
The statement further read, “The internal complaints committee has convened and the enquiry is going on as per the Guidelines of POSH Act 2013. We are aware that the aggrieved party has made a complaint with the police department for which an FIR has been registered.” In the statement, the governing body also requested the media not to reveal the complainant's name in the report.
National Award-winning choreographer Shaik Jani alias Jani Master was on Sunday booked for allegedly sexually harassing a woman he worked with, according to the police. The woman alleged that Jani had sexually assaulted her during outdoor shoots and also attacked her at her home. Based on her complaint, the Raidurgam police have registered a zero FIR and transferred it to the Narsingi police station on Sunday night as the woman resides there, police said on Monday.
