Kamal Haasan's Senapathy Look In Indian 2 Took 4 Hours To Get Right

About getting the Senapathy look right, Shankar lauded Kamal Haasan's professionalism and patience as the make up team took over 4 hours to work on it.

Kamal Haasan is all set to return to the big screens with S Shankar directorial Indian 2. The vigilante thriller will see Haasan reprise his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter who turns into a vigilante to fight corruption. The sequel has high hopes riding on it more so because Indian 2 has been in the making for a long time, with the franchise returning after nearly three decades.

At the recently concluded audio launch event, Shankar revealed how much time it took for Haasan to attain the Senapathy look on set.

How getting the Senapathy look was a difficult task

About getting the Senapathy look right, Shankar lauded Haasan's professionalism and shared, “It used to take four hours to put on the prosthetic makeup and one hour to remove it. Kamal Haasan sir did this for 70 days. He is a great actor.”

Shankar also talked about a risky scene Haasan shot by himself for Indian 2.“There was a complicated scene where Kamal sir was put on a rope. He needed to speak Punjabi while his hand would be drawing one thing. He was wearing prosthetic makeup, and we shot the scene in slow motion 48 frames. Nobody in the world can do that scene except Kamal sir,” the director added.

Indian 3 to follow after Indian 2

At an earlier media appearance, both Shankar and Haasan confirmed Indian 3. Haasan revealed that when the director approached him for a sequel, they decided to divide it into 2 parts. They also shared that Indian 3 will release around six months after Indian 2.
