Lal Salaam: Rajinikanth, Kapil Dev take a stroll in latest poster unveiled on cricketer's birthday

The makers of Lal Salaam are currently inching closer to the release of their big banner project - one of the first major Tamil releases of the year. Besides Rajinikanth, who will be essaying the role of Moideen Bhai in the film, Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam will also feature cricketing legend Kapil Dev in a cameo. On the occasion of the latter's birthday, the makers of the film have unveiled a new poster.

For the unversed, Kapil Dev celebrates his birthday every year on January 6 - the cricketer turns 65 this year. The makers of Lal Salaam commemorated the occasion by unveiling a new poster of the film. The poster in question features a smiling Kapil Dev and Rajinikanth taking an animated stroll together against a lush green background. The poster also reads, 'Happy Birthday to the legend Kapil Dev'. This gesture comes just a week ahead of the film's much anticipated theatrical release.

The caption to the post read, "Team Lal Salaam wishes the legendary @therealkapildev a Happy birthday! Your journey, marked by triumphs and leadership, is an inspiration to all. May this year be filled with joy and good health!"

Lal Salaam is gearing up for a massive three-way box office clash

Lal Salaam will be releasing in theatres on January 12. Also hitting theatres on the same day is Dhanush's Arun Matheswaran helmed patriotic period drama, Captain Miller. Additionally, the Sivakrthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh led Ayalaan will also be releasing in theatres on January 12. Besides this three-way box Tamil box office clash, major Telugu releases - Mahesh Babu's Trivikram Srinivas helmed Guntur Kaaram and Prashanth Varma's Teja Sajja led fantasy action film Hanu Man will also be releasing on the same date.

Finally, Nag Ashwin's pan-India project, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone will also be releasing on January 12.
