Lubber Pandhu Box Office Day 3: The latest Tamil film starring Harish Kalyan has generated immense buzz online after releasing on September 20, coinciding with National Cinema Day when tickets were priced at ₹99. The film picked up pace after receiving positive reviews online, with viewers flocking to the theatres to watch the comedy-drama set against the backdrop of local cricket tournaments in pockets of Tamil Nadu. It is poised to perform well in the coming days, given how positively social media users are reacting to the film.

Lubber Pandhu ends 1st weekend on a positive note

Lubber Pandhu sees the rivalry between Harish Kalyan's Anbu and Attakathi Dinesh as Gethu on the cricket field. According to reviews floating on social media, debut director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu sheds light on the rubber ball cricket tournament culture prevalent in the deep pockets of Tamil Nadu in his film. Lubber Pandhu not only has a well-crafted narrative but also edge-of-the-seat moments, guaranteeing thrills and an emotion-filled ride.

On its opening day, the film minted ₹75 lakh. However, the second day saw a complete turnaround as the collections grew by 120% to touch ₹1.65 crore mark. On Sunday, the collection grew further by 30 percent, taking the business in the first weekend to ₹2.16 crore. The film's collection is coming in majorly from the markets in Tamil Nadu as it saw a limited release. Its three-day total stands at ₹4.56 crore nett in India.

Lubber Pandhu competing with Vijay's GOAT

Lubber Pandhu's modest run comes at a time when Tahalapathy Vijay's GOAT is running in cinema halls. On Sunday, which was its 18th day, GOAT minted ₹5.06 crore as compared with ₹2.16 crore business of Lubber Pandhu. It is evident that owing to its positive word-of-mouth, the Harish Kalyan starrer is eating into the business of Vijay's film and will affect its business in major markets as word spreads.
