Suriya Asks Fans To 'Stop' Obsessing Over Box Office Numbers Ahead Of Kanguva Release
Tamil star Suriya who is currently gearing up for his upcoming projects requested his fans to enjoy the film. The actor will be seen in Kanguva.
Suriya who predominantly works in Tamil film industry, continues to rule over the fans' hearts with his impressive performances. The actor who is gearing up for his upcoming film Kanguva, spoke to fans about the obsession how much the film earned.
What did Suriya address to fans?
At the film’s recent audio launch of Meiyazhagan, Karthi’s brother, Suriya, who is also the producer, shared a heartfelt message to the fans. Reportedly, Suriya has said to fans and said, “Watch movies, and celebrate them for the stories and characters. Stay away from worrying too much and fighting with others about the box office numbers. Collections of a movie shouldn’t be your concern at all.”
As soon as Suriya addressed this, fans shared their viewpoint as well in the comment section. One user wrote, “Glad he actually addressed this. Hate seeing fans celebrating or trolling box office numbers as if they were the producers or something”. Another user wrote, “Perhaps he’s right, instead of engaging in fan wars over whose movie was more successful at the BO, one must simply enjoy watching a well made movie”.
Suriya’s upcoming projects
Suriya and his Jyothika’s jointly produced movie Meiyazhagan is set to release in theatres on September 27. Written and directed by C Prem Kumar, the film also stars Karthi, Sri Divya, Arvind Swamy and Rajkiran.
Suriya starrer Kanguva is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The action thriller is directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green and UV Creations. The cast also includes Bobby Deol, Disha Patani , Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, and Redin Kingsley.
Kanguva was initially set for release in October 2024 but pushed further due to a clash with Rajinikanth's upcoming movie, Vettaiyan. Kanguva, made on a budget of Rs 300–350 crore, is one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced. It will now premiere in theatres on Children's Day, November 14.
