Tamannaah Bhatia starrer Aranmanai 4 opting out of Pongal box office battle? Reports surface

The makers for Aranmanai 4, the next installment of horror-comedy franchise starring Tamannaah Bhatia, had earlier announced a release date of Pongal 2024. The film was slated to clash with other biggies like Captain Miller and Ayalaan. However, it appears the Aranmanai 4 makers are now planning to opt out of the Pongal box office battle.

The reports surface because of absolutely no promotional updates from the makers of Tamannaah starrer, be in in terms of trailer or song releases or any other events. Earlier, on September 29, Tamannaah Bhatia had uploaded the film’s poster with the tagline “From Pongal onwards.” The post’s caption also read, “Here is the smashing first look of the much awaited #Aranmanai4. Hold on to your seats, we’ll see you in Pongal 2024!”

However, there has been no further development on the said announcement. Reportedly, the makers are now aiming for a Republic day release, instead of going for a Pongal release.

Besides Tamannaah Bhatia, Aranmanai 4 stars Raashi Khanna, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala and Motta Rajendran. The film is written and directed by Sundar C. 

The first installment of Aranmanai released in 2014

Aranmanai 4 is the fourth installment of a very successful horror-comedy franchise. Aranmanai, the first film in the series, had released in 2014. Starring Hansika Motwani and Andreah Jeremiah in the leads, Aranmanai was a huge box office success.

The next two films were released in 2016 and 2021. While the 2014 version fared well at the box office, Aranmanai 3, which was an OTT release, was heavily panned by critics and audiences alike.
