Thangalaan Box Office Day 4: Vikram Starrer Hits A Plateau, Collects ₹29.3 Crore In 1st Weekend

The action-adventure drama, co-starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and Malavika Mohanan, earned ₹5.65 crore on its fourth day at the box office according to the early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Adding the four day collection, the total stands at ₹29.35 crore. Thangalaan had an overall 40.63 per cent Tamil Occupancy on Sunday.

After the release of Thangalaan, fans took to social media to share their reviews of the action flick. One user wrote, “Vikram sir proves it again and again..valuable actor @beemji is undeniably the finest director taking Tamil cinema to the next…Story, screenplay, the politics, the history.. A sequel of Thangalaan in the works?

Following the release of the film, the actor and the team held a press meet to celebrate the success in Hyderabad. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Chiyaan Vikram shared an exciting announcement about the second part of the movie, saying, “Ranjith asked (me) to mention here that because you all liked Thangalaan so much, we discussed, and we want to do a part 2 soon.” 

About Thangalaan

Set during the British Raj, the movie revolves around Thangalaan, a fierce tribal leader, and his tribe assisting Lord Clement, a British General, to trace gold in their village. While searching for the gold, the villagers earn the wrath of Aarathi, an apparent sorceress, and Thangalaan sets out to stop Aarathi with all his might. The movie is directed by Pa Ranjith who collaborated with Vikram for the first time in Thangalaan.
