The Greatest Of All Time Box Office Collection: Vijay starrer The GOAT had a record-breaking opening at the box office in India. The movie, helmed by Venkat Prabhu, is earning positive reviews from critics and audiences. Despite positive reviews, the movie witnessed a major downfall in the collection on the second day.

The action thriller opened at ₹44 crore with ₹39.15 crore in Tamil. On the second day, the movie witnessed a downfall in earnings by 43.75 per cent and could only mint ₹24.75 crores on the first Friday. In Tamil, the movie earned ₹22 crore, while in Hindi ₹1.5 crore and in Telugu ₹1.25 crore, early estimates reported by Sacnilk. Adding the two-day collection, the total stands at ₹68.75 crore.

The Greatest of All Time had an overall 60.38 per cent Tamil occupancy on Friday with a maximum reported in Trichy 94.50 per cent.

Apart from Vijay, the movie also starred Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren and Yugendran.

Is GOAT made on a whopping budget of ₹400 crores?

In a recent interview, Archana Kalapathi disclosed that the production house spent an astounding ₹400 crore on the film, making it one of the most expensive Tamil films to date. She defended the film's budget, explaining that a top actor’s salary correlates with the revenue they can generate at the box office. Kalapathi emphasised that their aim is for the film to recoup its costs and more solely through theatrical runs, without relying on revenue from streaming, satellite, or dubbed versions. She also reportedly confirmed that Vijay received ₹200 crore for the project, where he plays both a father and his son. This is reportedly one of the last movies of Thalapathy Vijay amid his political career.

Will GOAT release on Netflix?

According to media reports, Netflix India has acquired the digital rights to Thalapathy Vijay’s film, and it will be available for streaming on the platform after the end of the theatrical release. Although the official OTT release date hasn't been confirmed. As estimated, the film is expected to premiere in November which is around eight weeks after its release, and is likely to be available by Diwali.
