Two Rajinikanth films to re-release in December to celebrate the Superstar's 73rd birthday
With Rajinikanth's 73rd birthday fast approaching, two of the veteran actor's much loved films will be getting theatrical re-releases to celebrate the occasion.

Rajinikanth saw through the release of one of this year's biggest blockbusters, Jailer. The actor is currently engrossed in the shoot for Thalaivar 170. On the personal front, the actor will soon be celebrating his 73rd birthday. In lieu of the same, two of the superstar's older films are set for theatrical re-releases to celebrate the occasion.

Two Rajinikanth films set for a theatrical re-release
Rajinikanth will turn 73 on December 12 this year. To celebrate the same, the makers of two of his earlier films - both much-loved classics featuring the actor, have decided on theatrical re-releases. The first film in question, is 1995 release Muthu with Rajinikanth in the lead opposite Meena along with Sarath Babu, Raghuvaran and KS Ravikumar among others. Directed by KS Ravikumar, the film shows a landlord and his loyal servant fall for the same girl. The film had initially released on October 23 1995. Though the film will release in December, a date has not been set for the same. Additionally, while the film will surely re-release in Tamil, the same cannot be said for its Telugu version.

The second film up for a release is Sivaji: The Boss. The film featured Rajinikanth along side Shriya Saran, Nayanthara, Vivek and Suman among others. Directed by S Shankar, the film initially released on June 15 2007. It is set for a re-release in Telugu on December 9. The film has themes of patriotism and corruption and notably carries music by AR Rahman.
Rajinikanth will soon start work on Thalaivar 171
Post wrapping up the shoot for TJ Gnanavel's Thalaivar 170, Rajinikanth will commence work on Thalaivar 171. The film will be helmed by Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj and will reportedly be a part of the actor's LCU - Lokesh Cinematic Universe.

As per reports, Raghava Lawrence has landed the role of the antagonist in the film.
