Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan Film Nears ₹100 Cr On Dussehra
Vettaiyan Box Office: The Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan movie hit the big screens on October 10 and has been audience to houseful theatres ever since.
Vettaiyan Box Office: The Rajinikanth starrer opened to a fan frenzy on October 10, two days before Dussehra. Though the film opened to a staggering collection, it witnessed a decline at the box office ever since. On the subsequent days, Vettaiyan witnessed a dip in business, but continued to rake in better numbers than other films on the big screens.
Vettaiyan nears ₹100 crore at the box office in India
The Rajinikanth starrer opened to ₹31.7 crore in India. The film is released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada but has raked in maximum numbers from Tamil-speaking areas. On the second day of release, Vettaiyan minted ₹24 crore. On day 3, which also marked the Dussehra holiday, the movie minted ₹26 crore, as per estimates by Sacnilk.
This has taken the film's total business to ₹81.70 crore, as per Sacnilk. In the coming week, given that there is no other significant release, the Rajinikanth starrer is expected to breach ₹100 crore mark at the box office.
Rajinikanth fans celebrate Vettaiyan release with dance, crackers
Fans of superstar Rajinikanth celebrated the release of his much-awaited film Vettaiyan with great excitement on Thursday across Tamil Nadu. From bursting crackers to performing special rituals, the excitement of Rajinikanth's fans was seen in full swing in several cities and towns as the movie hit theatres worldwide.
Special pujas were performed, at Karpagavinayagar Temple and fans carried paalkudam (milk pots) to the theatres, continuing the celebrations with joy and excitement. The movie is screening in 20 theatres across Dindigul district, including 8 in the city and 12 in nearby areas like Chinnalapatti, Vathalakundu, Palani, and Ottanchathiram. Massive crowds gathered outside theatres in Vellore, dancing to the beats of dhol and bursting crackers to celebrate the release of Vettaiyan. The energy and excitement were high as fans cheered for Rajinikanth.
Helmed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Subaskaran's Lyca Productions, the star-studded film also ensemble included Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and Abhirami.
