Who is Mansoor Ali Khan? His controversial statements against Leo co-star Trisha Krishnan

Mansoor Ali Khan is currently making the headlines owing to his 'derogatory' remark about his Leo co-star Trisha. Mansoor, who has worked in several films, said that he was looking forward to a 'bedroom scene' with the actress, just like his previous films where he essayed villain roles and was involved in raping or troubling women in movies. In a recent interview, the actor expressed disappointment in not getting a chance to even meet Trisha on the film sets, while he was expecting a bedroom scene.

Who is Mansoor Ali Khan?

In his recent interview, the actor, who predominantly works in Tamil industry, himself revealed that he has done many rape scenes in a number of movies. He has acted in over 250 films in all languages including Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu film industries. Apart from being an actor, he is also a producer, music composer, writer and producer. He got a breakthrough role as an antagonist in Captain Prabhakaran (1991). After the success of this film, he got a lot of opportunities mostly as an antagonist. This year, he was seen in three Tamil films - Pichaikkaran 2, Kick and Leo.

In Lokesh Kanagaraj's directorial Leo, Mansoor played the role of Hridayaraj D'Souza, a jail convict, who has a connection with Leo (played by Vijay)'s past.

What Mansoor Ali Khan said about Trisha?

In the same interview, speaking about Leo, the actor revealed he was looking forward to working with Trisha. He thought there would be scenes where he has to pick a woman forcefully just like in his previous film, but got to know nothing of the sort is happening. Passing a crass comment, he said, "I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule."

How Trisha reacted to Mansoor Ali Khan's comment?

Soon after the video was released, it came to Trisha's notice and taking to X (formerly Twitter), Trisha called it "sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic and repulsive". She wrote, "A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind (sic).”

The incident has created a stir on social media. Several members of the South film fraternity, including Chiranjeevi, director Lokesh, director Karthik Subbaraj, Nithiin, Chinmayi Sripada, and actor-politician Khushbu Sundar, among others, voiced their support for Trisha.
