This leap introduces a fresh storyline, along with a new cast. The makers have confirmed Shivam Khajuria and Alisha Parveen as the new lead actors. As the buzz around other cast members continues, many names are coming up with speculations. Recently rumours swirled, that Smriti Irani was expected to enter Anupamaa. Smriti Irani had previously captivated audiences with her iconic portrayal of Tulsi Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi but left the industry in 2012 to pursue a career in politics. Since the last few days, rumours about her return to television have surfaced. Some time back, a media portal, TellyChakkar, took to Instagram to share a post, which read, “Smriti Irani To Have A Special Cameo In The Show Anupama Post Generation Leap?”
Some reports also speculated that she would return to TV after a 15-year gap. As the buzz grows, Smriti Irani addressed these claims by responding to a social media post, calling it “Fake News.”
This confirms that she has no plans to return to television for now. Meanwhile, Anupamaa viewers can look forward to dramatic twists following the recent time jump.

The show will star Rupali Ganguly alongside Alisha Parveen and Shivam Khajuria in lead roles for a new part. Rupali's show Anupamaa, inspired by the Bengali series Sreemoyee, follows Anupama's new journey as she searches for her grown-up daughter, Aadhya.
