In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa Shirodkar discussed her past life during a chat with fellow contestant Gunaratna Sadavarte. She opened up about her battle with depression, revealing that her husband, Apresh Ranjit, sacrificed his career to support her. Shilpa recounted, "When my parents passed away in 2008, I went into severe depression. Aparesh was doing really well in his career, but he left everything, and we moved to India."
Shilpa is the daughter of Vanita Shirodkar and Nitin Shirodkar. Her elder sister, Namrata Shirodkar, is also an actress known for her role in the film Vastav.
Bigg Boss 18: Shilpa Shirodkar praised her husband for sacrificing his career
Shilpa further praised her husband saying, “I mean, if Apresh had said, 'I won’t give up my career, you make the sacrifices,' then today he would have been in a completely different place in the banking world.” Earlier, she described both her daughter and husband as extremely supportive, saying, “Today, I am here because of them. My daughter supports me so much, it's unreal. I've seen my mother sacrificing for me, and I feel that if I become like my mother, just imagine how strong my daughter will be.”
Shilpa made her acting debut in the 1989 film Bhrashtachar, which featured Rekha, National Award winner Mithun Chakraborty, and Anupam Kher. She acted in films until 2000, then returned to the screen after a 13-year break with the television show Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. A familiar face in the 1990s, she starred in many successful films, including Kishen Kanhaiya, Nyay Anyay, Hum, Dil Hi To Hai, and Apne Dam Par, among others.
