CID actor Dinesh Phadnis dies of multiple organ failure at 57

Television actor Dinesh Phadnis, best known for his role as Fredericks in the popular show CID, breathed his last on Tuesday. He was 57 at the time of his passing. His co-actors Dayanand Shetty and Shraddha Musle, who portrayed Daya and Dr Tarika respectively on CID, confirmed the news of Dinesh's demise, revealing that the actor succumbed to multiple organ failure. Dinesh Phadnis had been undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Tunga Hospital in his late 50s.

Shraddh Musle took to social media and shared a throwback photo with Dinesh Phadnis from CID days. Alongside the post, she wrote, “We will miss you Freddy sir.”
There was no improvement in his condition: Dayanand Shetty
Initially, it was reported that Dinesh suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday, prompting his admission to the hospital. However, Dayanand Shetty later clarified that the actor's ailment was related to liver damage, correcting the earlier misinformation surrounding the cause of his health crisis. During an interview with Pinkvilla, Shetty revealed that Dinesh did not suffer from a cardiac arrest instead he was suffering from a liver damage condition. He further informed that Dinesh was immediately rushed to Tunga Hospital in Malad and shared that he had been in a very critical state for the past two days. He added, “This morning I’ve learned that there’s no major improvement in his condition.”
Dinesh Phadnis' professional career
Apart from CID, Phadnis also did small parts in a couple of Bollywood films. He featured in a small role in the 1999 Aamir Khan starrer Sarfarosh, followed by the 2000 release Mela, also featuring the latter in the starring role.
