Karan Oberoi Shares Why Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi Co-star Mona Singh Rejected His Marriage Proposal

Karan Oberoi and Mona Singh were co-stars on the popular show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi. The actors played the lead role on the show and their chemistry was a hit among the fans. The duo even dated for a brief period. However, years later, the actor gave a tell-all interview, revealed why they parted ways and also spoke about the time when he proposed marriage to Mona Singh but she rejected it. 

Our romance began on the set of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin: Karan Oberoi on romance with Mona Singh 

Karan Oberoi recently appeared on the podcast of Siddharth Kannan. At the appearance, the actor shared that he fell in love with Mona Singh while shooting for their show, “Our romance began on the set of 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin'. If you spend so much time with someone, then it is natural to develop affection for them. She is a very good actor. She was very chilled out and she had a terrific sense of humour, which I found very appealing. I think it was very natural for me to fall for her. She laughs openly, and I fell in love with this aspect of her. She is very bindaas as a person.” 

The actor further called the relationship ‘beautiful’ while it lasted. He stressed that 

even though they had part ways, he does not bear any ill feeling towards anyone. The actor said, “It was beautiful while it lasted. There are many compulsions due to which you go separate ways, but that doesn’t mean that you harbour any ill feeling for anyone.” 

Karan Oberoi recalls proposing marriage to Mona Singh 

In the same conversation, Karan Oberoi also recalled proposing marriage to Mona Singh. The actor shared, “[It is] Understandable. Jassi was a stellar show, and she was a national icon. She was rising in her career. At that time, I didn’t understand this, but now I can. We suffer when we want other people to be like us.” 

Revealing why the actress said no to his proposal, he said, “When you don’t expect anything from anyone, you won’t judge them, then you will be happy. You don’t understand this when you are young, so you take it as a rejection. She wanted to focus on her career, and there is nothing wrong with that.” Mona Singh is currently seen in the horror-comedy movie Munjya.
