Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the Sab TV sitcom has been undoubtedly one of the most popular and iconic TV shows of last few couples. However, its loyal audience base has been disappointed with the makers of the show for not marking a return for its iconic character Dayaben despite hinting at her comeback several times. Now, in a collective outburst, the fans managed to begin a trend on social media, asking for boycott of the popular show.
A recent episode hinted at Dayaben’s return
The boycott trend also comes in the wake of the show producer Asit Modi discussing the subject many times during media interactions, indirectly suggesting that Disha Vakani, who played Dayaben, might make a return to the show very soon.
A few media reports had also stated that Dayaben aka Disha Vakani would reappear in the show during the Diwali special season. In a recent episode of the show, the makers incorporated a scene where Jethalal and her son Tappu along with the entire Gokuldham society community can be seen waiting for Dayaben’s arrival. However, the scene ends with the revelation that Dayaben is not returning anytime soon. This scene particularly infuriated the audience, which gradually led to the said online boycott movement from some of the fans of show.

One X user posted, ““It's been years now, fans are still waiting to watch to this Og Duo on screen.. but the show is only giving lollipop to us !!” Another X user commented, “Tmkoc is not only playing with jethalal's feelings but the whole audience's feeling.” Another netizen commented.”

The character of Dayaben, which was a major selling point of the show for years, last appeared regularly in the year 2019. In the last 4 years, while the show has introduced many new characters to its universe, the fans have continued to miss the character of Dayaben, who had brought a lot of humour and warmth especially with her character with Jetha Lal. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which began its on-air run in the air 2008, is now nearing the 4000-episode mark.
