After Animal success, Rashmika Mandanna starts shooting for her next The Girlfriend

Rashmika Mandanna is basking in the success of her recently released film Animal, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. The film is now racing towards ₹300 crore club and is in no mood to slow down. However, this didn't stop the actress from taking a break as she started shooting for the upcoming film The Girlfriend in Hyderabad.

On Wednesday, the official page of Geetha Arts, the production house, shared a video on YouTube announcing the film going on the floors. In the video, the team can be seen performing the puja ceremony and kick-starting the first shot. Sharing the video link on X, the makers captioned it as "It is ACTION for the #TheGirlfriend. Shoot begins."

Scripted and directed by actor-director Rahul Ravindran, the film is touted to be led by Rashmika. It will be produced by Allu Arvind’s Geetha Arts for their 51st film with music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab. Reportedly, the actress will be filming for The Girlfriend for the next 20 days in Hyderabad. This will be the 24th film of Rashmika's career of seven years. Cinematography by Krishnan Vasant. Animal box office collection day 5

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film minted ₹34.02 crore in Hindi and ₹33.39 crore in South Indian languages on Tuesday. Adding the Tuesday collection, the film in India has earned ₹284.05 crore so far.

Animal had an overall 42.51 percent Hindi occupancy on Tuesday with maximum ticket sales for night shows - 62.27 percent. As per Box Office India, seeing the pace of the film, it is expected that the Hindi version might beat the numbers of Jawan and Pathaan.
