Dacoit teaser: Makers of Shruti Haasan-Adivi Sesh starrer reveal title in style | Watch

Actors Shruti Haasan and Adivi Sesh recently took to her social media page to share the title reveal of their upcoming film. The film, promised to be an action-entertainer has been titled Dacoit. Alongwith the announcement teaser, the actors also shared a new poster of the film.

Dacoit promises tale of two scorned lovers reuniting for a deadly mission

Reportedly, Dacoit tells a gripping story of two ex-lovers who are destined to unite to execute a series of robberies which could possibly change their lives forever. The teaser begins with the gritty visuals of a post-battle like scenario, with dead bodies everywhere lying around and only two people looking for each other - our protagonists (played by Shruti Haasan and Adivi Sesh). It is gradually established that two have a romantic history, and haven’t met since many years. The teaser ends with the visual of a stand-off, and fades out followed by sound of a gunshot. 

Dacoit marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo, who has been active in the Telugu film industry as a cinematographer for over a decade, having worked on major films like Kshanamand Nishabdham among others. Talking about the director , Adivi Sesh said, “Shaneil Deo has an absolutely fantastic vision. It’s grand without being grandiose and elegant without being uppity. That sort of an elegant eye coupled with a very rustic nature of the script and the characters set in the hinterlands of silent India, its villages and towns make for an explosive, angry combustion that is this film.”

Dacoit to be shot in both Hindi and Telugu

Like many major Telugu films of recent times, Dacoit too is planned as a Pan-Indian film, releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada as well. Additionally, the film will be shot both in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously. 

Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, Dacoit is scheduled to go on floors very soon.  The film is presented by Annapurna Studios. The makers of Dacoit have not shared any tentative release date as yet.
