Double iSmart X Review: Netizens Call Ram Pothineni Film 'Absolute Cringe, Waste Of Time And Money'

Double iSmart Review: Filmmaker Puri Jagannadh’s film Double iSmart was released in theatres on Independence Day on August 15. The film, also backed by the filmmaker and Charmme Kaur’s banner Puri Connects, features Telugu actor Ram Pothineni in the lead. Double iSmart is a sequel to Pothineni and Jagannadh’s 2019 sci-fi action film iSmart Shankar, about an assassin who helps the police when a slain cop’s memories are transferred to his brain.

Social media users share mixed reviews of Double iSmart

 
Social media users who caught the early shows of the Ram Pothineni starrer took to their account to share their review of the film. One user wrote, "Worst dialogues, worst comedy, absolute cringe the man who once gave BBs like pokiri has directed the worst 1st half of his career .. is this #DoubleISMART Ali goyyala ennada comedy idhu thooooo #PuriJagannadh competing with Indian2 for worst film award" Another user wrote, “#DoubleISMART Follows a very similar template to the prequel. Ram’s energy is the mainstay of the film and makes it bearable. However, the routine taking of Puri and the artificial drama like narration tests your patience. Ali’s comedy track is so cringe that it makes us laugh at how stupid it is. Ram and few intriguing sequences stand out. If you liked the prequel, then this one may appeal to you. If not, it is an avoidable fare that offers nothing appealing.” 

 

Some applauded the actor's entry scene in the movie and called it the perfect mass entertainer. A social media user wrote, “Perfect comeback for #PuriJagannadh” Another predicted the movie would cross the ₹100 crore mark on the opening day. 

Sanjay Dutt also features in Double iSmart 

Produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects, the film also stars Gurbani Judge in the supporting role. The soundtrack album and background score for the film were composed by Mani Sharma.  The film has cinematography by Sam K Naidu and Gianni Gianneli. Double iSmart will be releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. The film was initially scheduled to release on March 8, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, but was later postponed. The makers are yet to announce the release date.

Talking about iSmart Shankar (2019), the movie earned positive reviews and became a commercial success by minting ₹80 crore worldwide.
