On September 19, the Cydereadbad police took Jani Master alias for Shaik Jani Basha, in custody. A non-bailable FIR has been lodged against him following sexual allegation complaints. Hours later, actor-turned-politician Naga Babu Konidela took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share a series of cryptic posts.

Without naming anyone, the actor wrote, “No person can be considered guilty of a crime until he or she has been found guilty of that crime by a court of law.” He followed this up with another post that read, “Don't believe everything you hear. There are always three sides to a story”yours, theirs and the truth." While the actor had disable the comment section on his posts, social media users reshared his posts sharing their opinions.

A user wrote., “The #MeToo movement in Tollywood is a joke when you have people like Nagababu in the industry. Instead of creating safe space for women to come forward to report sexual harassment at workplace, he's siding with the rapists.” Some argued, “and Nagababu not posted his own saying, its by famous one..nijamga tappu chetshe evarikaina siksha padali.” The actor's comments have left social media users divided while some shaming him for siding with accused and others supporting him.

Jani Master arrested in rape case 

Celebrity choreographer Jani Master was arrested by Telangana's Cyberabad police from Goa on Thursday for alleged sexual assault on a junior female choreographer. The Special Operation Team (SOT) of Cyberabad police nabbed the absconding accused from a lodge in Goa and will bring him to Hyderabad. He is likely to be first taken to Narsingi Police Station where a case was registered against him on a complaint by his assistant. After recording his statement, police will produce him before a court in Rangareddy district.

The national award-winning choreographer was reported to be absconding since Wednesday and police teams were sent to different places to arrest him. As the complainant alleged that Jani Master had sexually assaulted her ever since she was a minor, the police on Wednesday added relevant sections of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act. The victim, now 21, alleged that the choreographer first raped her in 2019. She told police that he sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. Police had initially booked him for rape, criminal intimidation and assault, and had recorded the statement of the complainant. She was also sent for a medical examination.
