Kannappa: Vishnu Manchu is an 'atheist warrior' in the first look poster of film

Vishnu Manchu starrer is touted to be based on the mythological story of Kannappa, a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva.

On the occasion of Vishnu Manchu's 42nd birthday, the makers have unveiled the first-look poster of his film Kannappa. Helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film is touted to be based on the mythological story of Kannappa, a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. The film stars Madhoo and R. Sarathkumar in pivotal roles.

The poster showcases Vishnu as a warrior aiming his arrow towards an imposing lingam, set against the backdrop of lush green mountains. The poster doesn't reveal the face of the actor and just gives a glimpse of the film. Along with the poster, he revealed the cameo roles of celebs Mohanlal, Prabhas, Shiva Rajkumar and Mohan Babu.

Sharing the post, he wrote, "Step into the world of 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐚 where the journey of an atheist Warrior to becoming Lord Shiva’s ultimate devotee comes to life".

In September, the team of Kannappa jetted off to New Zealand for the filming. Taking to Instagram, Vishnu shared a long post expressing his feelings as he commenced the film in the "picturesque landscapes of New Zealand". He wrote, "Today, I stand in awe as the adventure of a lifetime unfolds in the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand, as we commence the shooting of 'Kannappa.' This dream has been seven years in the making, and its realization is a testament to the divine blessings of Lord Shiva and Parvathi Devi."

During the filming, he encountered an unfortunate accident while shooting an action sequence. It happened so, a drone malfunctioned and collided with the actor's arm, causing injuries.

The music department is being handled by Stephen Devassy and Manisharma. Sheldon Chau is a cinematographer while Kecha Khamphakdee choreographed the action sequences.
