Mangalavaram director Ajay Bhupati has much to say when it comes to the manner in which his film has been reviewed. The film which released in theatres on November 17, collected an optimistic ₹3.25 crores on its opening day. The film appears to be headed into a well-performing weekend, given the trends. While the director is grateful for the appreciation, he has blasted a particular film reviewer in particular.

Ajay Bhupati on unethical reviewing
The success meet of Mangalavaram saw Ajay Bhupati call out the practice of unethical reviewing. Prior to the release of the film, Bhupati had put out a request asking reviewers to not reveal the key plot points and twists of the film, coupled with the climax as well as the identity of the actor behind the brass mask - an important part of the film. While all reviewers considered the requests, there is one that particularly crossed the line.

He said, "99% of the reviewers really didn’t reveal anything about the story or the twists, though have given an in-depth review of the film. But there is this particular reviewer who noted everything in a diary and gave away all the details. One has to review a film ethically, whatever his review may be and should have the sense to not leak about the twists."
