Mistaken Identity Mania: Rajasekhar's Kalki Becomes Surprise Hit In Prabhas' Shadow

Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD is nearing its release date and the craze around the movie has just doubled. The sci-fi thriller is inspired by Hindu scriptures and is set in a post-apocalyptic world. A few days ago, ticketing platform BookMyShow announced the advance booking of the movie. However, instead of Prabhas' movie, they accidentally opened the shows for Dr Rajshekar starrer Kalki which was released in 2019. On noticing this, the Telugu actor took to his social media handle and extended his best wishes.

Taking to his X handle, the actor re-shared a post informing that six shows of Kalki went housefull by mistake in several Telangana states. Movie buffs ended up booking tickets for Rajasekhar's Kalki and then for Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD. Reacting to this goof-up, he joked that he was not behind this mixup. He also sent best wishes to the makers.

"Naaku assalu sammandham ledhu (I have no connection). Jokes apart... Wishing dear #Prabhas @nagashwin7, Maa #AshwiniDutt garu @VyjayanthiFilms, the stellar cast and crew all the very very best! May you create history and take the film industry a step ahead @kalki2898ad (sic)."

BookMyShow reacts to ‘Kalki’ goof-up

Soon after the movie buffs realised that they had booked the wrong tickets, they took to X asking for the answer. A user shared a screenshot of his ticket and wrote, "Hello @amb_cinemas What is this? I thought I booked for the #KALKI2898AD‌. But it is showing me #kalki rajashekhar movie @bookmyshow what is this."  Another wrote, "Orey rajashekhar kalki ki inni entra? Hey @bookmyshow you've allotted all these shows to the wrong Kalki movie. Please do verify and allot them to Kalki 2898 AD."

BookMyShow has assured that the tickets will be transferred to Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD.
