The upcoming Nagarjuna film Naa Saami Ranga was announced with great pomp and vigour a few weeks ago. The makers had even released a brief teaser of their film, introducing Nagarjuna who is seemingly playing a rustic ruffian in the film, with his quintessential swagger and style. It was announced that Naa Saami Ranga will release in January 2nd week on the auspicious occasion of Sankranthi.

However, it seems the makers are now struggling to catch the promised release date. If local media reports are to be believed, the Naa Saami Ranga unit is struggling to stick to the planned shooting schedule, and as a result the shooting stage has been extended. Reportedly, the makers are now trying their best to wrap up the shoot by Thursday, December 7 so that the post-production work can begin at the earliest, and the film can be ready for release by January 12, the date announced earlier.

Naa Saami Ranga is directed by noted choreography Vijay Binni who is making his directorial debut with this film. 

Sankranthi 2024 to be an array of big-scale film releases 

The said week of Sankranthi 2024 promises to be one of the busiest week at the movies, and not just for the Telugu film Industry. Besides Naa Saami Ranga, the other big releases lined up for that weekend are films like Mahesh Babu starrer Guntur Kaaram and Ravi Teja starrer Eagle. A few weeks ago, The makers of Vijay Deverakonda starrer Family Star had officially announced that they are postponing their film’s release, explaining that Family Star wouldn’t be releasing on January 12 as planned earlier.

Additionally, these big-scale Telugu films shall also face considerable competition from Tamil films releasing that weekend, including films like Ayalaan starring Sivakartikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh, Laal Salaam and Vikram-starrer Thangalaan.
