Pushpa director Sukumar's record remuneration for sequel brings him on par with SS Rajamouli

Bandreddi Sukumar, a popular screenwriter, and director who impressed movie watchers with Pushpa, has become the second person to enter Rs 100 crore club after Rajamouli. He is the Telugu director who will be paid Rs 100 crore for his next.
As per the reports, Rs 100 crore is the sum that was agreed upon by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar for Pushpa 2. It is also being said that Sukumar will receive a stake in the OTT business as well as a fixed paycheck. Apparently, the production house recently sold its OTT rights to Netflix for a record price.
Sukumar's earnings during Pushpa Part 1
Before Pushpa Part 1, Sukumar was paid Rs 25 crore. For now, his earnings can now reach Rs 100 crore which depends on the business transactions. That OTT transaction is now completed for a record sum. Assumingly, he receives that Rs 100 crore altogether is equal to a fixed paycheck, plus some stake in the OTT deal.
It is said that the second installment in the Pushpa film series is made on a budget of ₹500 crore. It will be one of the most expensive Indian films to date. Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun, will be released on August 15, 2024. Presently, the shoot is going on. It has garnered a lot of attention because the first installment was a smash hit.

Pushpa: The Rise worldwide earnings
Pushpa: The Rise (2021) grossed ₹365 crore worldwide and earned ₹363 crore in India. It was the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021. Directed by Sukumar, the movie stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. The lead actor, one of the highest-paid actors down south, had reportedly charged between Rs 45-50 crores for Pushpa: The Rise.
The movie did a good performance in Gujarat and Maharashtra despite coronavirus-related restrictions. Allu Arjun is reportedly charging ₹85 crore for the sequel. This is reportedly the double fee for the original.
