Rakul Preet Singh Slams Konda Surekha: The Bollywood actress, who has also worked in several Telugu and Tamil movies, has lashed out at Congress Minister Konda Surekha for using her name in a speech to gain "political mileage". The actress took to her social media handle and penned a long note asking her to stop using her name for to gain political mileage.

Taking to her X handle, Rakul started by writing, "Telugu Film Industry is known worldwide for its creativity and professionalism. I've had a great journey  in this beautiful industry and still very much connected." She expressed her disappointment and said, "It pains to hear such baseless and vicious rumours being spread about the women of this fraternity. What's more disheartening is the fact that this is being done by another woman who’s supposedly in a very responsible position."

She continued that for the sake of "dignity", actor choose to remain silent but it is misconstrued as their weakness. The actress further emphasised that she is "absolutely apolitical" and has nothing to do with any person/political party, whatsoever.

Towards the end, she requested to  "stop" using her name in a malicious way to gain political mileage. "Artists and creative personalities should be kept out of political slug fest and their names should not be used to grab headlines by linking them with fictitious stories," she concluded.

What did Konda Surekha said about Rakul Preet Singh?

On Wednesday, Konda Surekha interacted with the media and in the wake of to attack on KT Rama Rao, she said, "The reason for injustice to Samantha is KTR. Two to three heroines have also got married early due to drug cases. Rakul Preet got married and the other two to three heroines as well. Why do we have to bear this headache (of the drug cases) and get married soon? With the power they had previously, they tapped phones, made records and threatened them."

The Telangana Congress minister is already under fire for alleging that KTR was the reason behind Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce. The minister has now been served two legal notices, each by KTR and Nagarjuna Akkineni.
