Salaar becomes 5th Prabhas film after Adipurush, Baahubali, Saaho to reach ₹100 cr mark in Hindi

Salaar hit the big screen on December 21 across the country. The film was released alongside Rajkumar Hirani directed Dunki in the Hindi-speaking regions. The Prabhas starrer deterred tough competition, and despite fewer screens has breached the ₹100 crore mark in the Hindi version. 

Salaar becomes the 9th South Indian film to mint more than ₹100 cr mark in India  

As per business analysis site Sacnilk, Salaar has breached the ₹100 crore mark in the Hindi version alone in its 9-day theatrical run. The film has become the fifth Prabhas starrer to enter the ₹100 club in the Hindi language. Previously, Baahubali, Saaho, Baahubali 2 and Adipurush have raked in a staggering amount in the Hindi version. Additionally, as per the trade site, Salaar is the 9th South Indian film to have hit the box office century in Hindi. 

The other South Indian actors whose films have breached ₹100 crore mark in Hindi are Allu Arjun (Pushpa - The Rise), Jr. NTR and Ram Charan (RRR), Rajinikanth (2.0), and Yash (KGF 2). Salaar has been performing phenomenally at the domestic as well as the world box office. 

Salaar deters competition from Dunki 

Releasing close to Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki had an impact on Salaar in the Hindi-speaking region. As per Sacnilk, “Salaar would have scored much better than its current total had it released solo. The clash with Dunki has reduced it to fewer shows but still, it has done very well, especially in mass pockets.” The film has surpassed the collections of Dunki in domestic and worldwide box office as well. While Dunki minted a moderate ₹176.47 crore at the domestic box office, Salaar is reigning supreme with ₹329.62 crore. The Prabhas-Prithviraj starrer is close to amassing a total of ₹600 crores at the world box office.
