Salaar falls prey to piracy, full HD version of the Prabhas starrer leaked online

The makers of Salaar, hours before the film's release, had requested their viewers to not encourage piracy. Yet, the film was leaked online on Friday morning.

Despite the makers of Salaar posting an official request for fans to not encourage piracy, the film starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan has fallen prey to piracy and has leaked online.

The full HD version of Salaar is leaked online and is available for free download on websites like Tamilrockers, Filmyzilla, Telegram, and other piracy sites. This has happened even after the makers ahead of the movie release had requested their viewers to "not spoil the experience" and enjoy the films only in theaters. 

Makers share mail IDs to report pirated links

Hours before the film hit the theaters, the official Instagram handle of Salaar's production house, Hombale Films shared a note against piracy. It read, “Say no to piracy. Years of relentless commitment, effort, and hard work have been poured into crafting an exhilarating action spectacle for you to watch and enjoy in the theaters. Do not spoil the experience. Say no to piracy!”

The post was accompanied by the caption, "Watch #SalaarCeaseFire in cinemas near you. Don’t encourage piracy. Please report pirated links to @blockxtechs & report@blockxtech.com"

Piracy - Illegal practice

Piracy refers to the unauthorised duplication of copyrighted content that is then sold at substantially lower prices in the grey market. As per section 63, anybody involved in this illegal practice shall be punishable with imprisonment of not less than 6 months which can be extended up to 3 years. The person will also be fined which shall not be less than Rs 50000 and may extend to Rs 2 lakh.  

What do we know about Salaar?

Salaar, directed by KGF, Ugramm famed director Prashanth Neel, also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The film has opened to positive reviews and is expected to collect ₹95 crores net in India on its day 1. The film is bankrolled by Hombale Films, the production house behind films like KGF, KGF Chapter 2, and Kantara.
