Naga Chaitanya, who recently featured in the OTT series Dhootha, is currently gearing up for his next film titled Thandel. The film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya fame. Amid the bustling shoot in Mangalore, the film has sparked curiosity with Sai Pallavi joining the cast and essaying a pivotal role. Recent reports have unveiled intriguing details about her character, painting a picture of a compelling narrative in the making.

What will be Sai Pallavi's role in Thandel?

Stepping into the shoes of a girl hailing from the Srikakulam region, Sai Pallavi's portrayal in Thandel will have the essence of a village belle, reported OTTPlay. What sets her character apart is a blend of rebellion and adherence to social idealism. Reports suggest that she will be conversing in the Srikakulam dialect, adding authenticity to her role. Speculation within film circles hints at her character being named Satya, poised to introduce a significant twist in the love story.

What is Thandel's storyline?

According to 123telugu.com, the film is based on a true-life incident that occurred in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, in 2018. The film will be set in a fishing community and will revolve around a love story, with some action-packed sequences. Thandel will be released in multiple languages, providing moviegoers with a diverse cinematic experience.

Naga Chaitanya visited Srikakulam ahead of the announcement, interacting with local fishermen and exploring potential filming locations.

What do we know about Thandel?

Thandel will be helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, marking his third collaboration with Naha Chaitanya after Premam (2016) and Savyasachi (2018). The film also marks Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's second collaboration after their 2021 hit film Love Story.

Speaking about the filming experience, Naga Chaitanya added, "We have been travelling with the script for one and a half years. I enjoyed every step of the pre-production process. The work happened collaboratively, starting from interacting with the locals in Srikakulam. We worked on Srikakulam slang. I haven’t had this much of an elaborate planning for any of my previous movies. I enjoyed this process." More details about the film are awaited.
