In a tragic incident, a paragliding pilot has died while he was trying to save the life of a passenger during a mid-air accident. As per reports, the incident took place in Kalimpong district of West Bengal when a 22-year-old paragliding pilot who has been identified as Purushottam Timsina was gliding with a tourist named Gaurav Choudhary, who hails from Patna, Bihar. 

The glider ride started from the Deolo tourist lodge in Kalimpong and was supposed to make a landing at the Ronaldsay Park, as per reports. However, something went wrong with the parachute as the strong winds changed the directions of the glide and the pilot could not control the flight. 

As Gaurav Choudhary was using a selfie stick to record the flight, the entire the accident got recorded in the camera.

The one-minute video shows both Purushottam and Choudhary paragliding through the air as the latter is recording the video. After some time, the parachute snapped mid-air due to the strong winds and the pilot was seen trying to control the glider.

Moments later it brushes against the trees and eventually crashed into a concrete floor.

Reports have further stated that Gaurav Choudhary has suffered some injuries on the leg during the accident. However, the young pilot tragically died trying to save the tourist. 

The video of the incident has gone viral on the social media and the netizens are hailing the paragliding pilot as a hero for saving the tourist's life during the mid-air accident.

Furthermore, friends of Choudhary, who had accompanied him to Kalimpong for the trip have filed a complaint with the police. The officials have stated that they are investigating the matter to find out whether safety measures were adequately followed before the flight.
