Chuphal had met Union Water Resources Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat last month to request for setting up sewage treatment plants in these rivers and canals on the plea that the Ganga could not be 100 per cent clean without cleaning them as all of them merge with the mighty river at one point or the other.
