Asaduddin Owaisi is not having Imran Khan's "we'll teach Modi government how to treat minorities" boast. Here's his response

Giving a fitting response by putting facts in the frame, AIMIM's chief Asaduddin Owaisi, has called out Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan for wanting to "show the Indian government how to treat minorities" 

Khan's statement came in the wake of the mob violence controversy of Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah, who addressing an event asserted that in his "Naya Pakistan", minorities would feel safe and cited that the Indian minorities are not being treated equally. 

Owaisi in a tweet reminded Khan that the Pakistan Constitution only allows a Muslim to be the President of the country, whereas on contrary India has seen many Presidents from various oppressed communities.

Wanting to teach Khan a lesson on inclusive politics and minority rights, he tweeted, "According to the Pakistani Constitution, only a Muslim is qualified to be President. India has seen multiple Presidents from oppressed communities. It's high time Khan sahab learns something from us about inclusive politics & minority rights." 

On December 23, Khan said that "We will show the Modi government how to treat minorities...Even in India, people are saying that minorities are not being treated as equal citizens," he said referring to Mr. Shah's statement," in an address highlighting the 100-day achievements of Punjab government in Lahore.

In a video interview with Karwan-e-Mohabbat India, the veteran actor, Shah,  said the death of a cow was being given importance over the killing of a policeman in India.

He said the "poison has already spread" and it will be now difficult to contain it.

"It will be very difficult to capture this djinn back into the bottle again. There is complete impunity for those who take law into their own hands...I feel anxious for my children because tomorrow if a mob surrounds them and asks, 'Are you a Hindu or a Muslim?' they will have no answer. It worries me that I don't see the situation improving anytime soon," Mr Shah added.
