In a big development, the Governors of seven states have been changed, including Bihar governor Satya Pal Malik's transfer to Jammu-Kashmir, and Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy's transfer to Meghalaya. The President's office on Tuesday issued a release informing about the changes and appointments in these seven states.
As informed about the President's office, the above appointments will take effect from the dates the incumbents assume charge of their respective offices.

Satya Pal Malik, the previous Governor of Bihar has been the member of the 9th Lok Sabha, wherein he represented Aligarh constituency. Along with serving as the Governor of Bihar, he had additionally been given the charge to serve as the Governor of Odisha till May 28, 2018. He was given the additional duty on March 21, 2018.
The former Governor of Meghalaya had been a member of the Bihar Legislative Council for 18 years, wherein he was elected in 1994.

Solanki has been serving as the former Governor of Haryana before being appointed as the Governor of Tripura. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha till 2014, wherein he was inducted in 2009, representing Madhya Pradesh.
