Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrive for Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal wedding

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were among the celebrities who graced Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s wedding on Wednesday. The two ministers were seen together at the venue, the Ambani residence, Antilla in Mumbai amid tight security.

There were numerous other celebrities who were spotted arriving for the event. Former First Lady of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton, former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram were snapped on arrival.

Cricket stars like Sachin Tendulkar, along with wife Anjali and son Arjun, Harbhajan Singh, wife, actress Geeta Basra and daughter Hinaya were also among the guests. The two have represented Mumbai Indians, a team owned by the Ambanis.  

As far as the presence of Bollywood stars were concerned, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with Aaradhya Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, Alia Bhatt, Gauri Khan, Lara Dutta-Mahesh Bhupathi, Shilpa Shetty were among the guests at the event. 

Isha and Anand both belong to well-known families of the country. Isha’s father Mukesh Ambani is one of the richest men in Asia and heads Reliance Industries. Anand’s parents Ajay and Swati Piramal own the Piramal Group, which is an established company.

Before the wedding, the families had hosted another star-studded gathering in Udaipur on December 8 and 9. The bride and groom had kicked off the pre-wedding rituals with the ‘Anna Seva’ by serving food to 5100 people of the city including special people and distributed mobility aids to them. The Sangeet featured performances from Shah Rukh-Gauri Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan while Aamir Khan and Salman Khan had also come up on the stage. The bride’s mother Neeta and her brothers, Akash and Anant, who are all associated with various capacities in their family company, had also performed at the event. International pop sensation Beyonce’s performance had also made headlines.
