Similar activities carried out by the Indian Army

Adventure activities are always encouraged in the Indian Army. Last week, the Indian Army’s Medical Corps also conducted the ‘AMC Motorcycle Expedition’ through the harsh climatic regions of Ladakh. This was done to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kargil war and to mark the ‘55th AMC Biennial Conference’ of the Army. The expedition was carried out in an effort to honour the heroes of the Indian Army who had lost their lives trying to fight for the country. The expedition was conducted by eight people of the Army who scaled eight of the world's highest passes and rode over 1500 km in Ladakh.

In April this year, a team of 10 runners from Army Ordnance Corps undertook an Ultra Marathon run from Jabalpur to Secunderabad covering a distance of 777 Kms. The Aim of this Ultra Marathon run was to foster the spirit of adventure and fitness in the Indian Army.
