DGP Dilbag Singh said that several ceasefire violations have been taking place in many sectors across Kashmir. Some of these include Uri, Rajouri and Poonch. "During ceasefire violations, Pakistan attempts to push in greater number of infiltrators," said Dilbag Singh

However, Singh also mentioned that even as Pakistan tries to engage in cross-border terrorism by undertaking repeated infiltrations, the attempts are thwarted by the armed personnel. Dilbag Singh said that the anti-infiltration grid has kept a strict vigil. The security measures taken have successfully foiled many such infiltration efforts, added Singh. However, hostile situation still looms as Singh said that a significant number of terrorists are currently active along the border.

"The count of militants who are active at present is around 200-300," said Singh
