PM Modi adds new dimension to Delhi-Mumbai flights with Statue Of Unity 'can you spot it' nudge
With the mamoth statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel standing tall in Gujarat, so tall that it is even visible from the space, wouldn't it be fun if one could play "I spy" to spot the statue while flying over it.

With the mamoth statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel standing tall in Gujarat, so tall that it is even visible from the space, wouldn't it be fun if one could play "I spy" to spot the statue while flying over it.
And it seems that's what PM Narendra Modi on Friday wants us to do during an air-travel between Delhi and Mumbai.
Here's what he tweeted after he visited Kevadia where the statue is located.
"I would specially urge you all to visit Kevadia and see the ‘Statue of Unity.’ Some friends told me that the Statue can also be seen during Delhi-Mumbai flights. So, next time you are flying that route do try to spot the Statue," he tweeted.
PM Modi was in Gujarat for the annual conference of DGPs and IGPs at Kevadia colony of Narmada district.
The DGPs conference is an annual meeting where top police officers from all over the country share and discuss security-related issues. Union Home minister Rarjnath Singh had inaugurated the conference on Thursday.
As mentioned earlier, the Statue of Unity is also visible from the space.
An image released by commercial satellite services company Planet shows that India's edifice to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel can be seen from space and though it doesn't mention from how high up, it's probably safe to assume it's from a low-Earth orbit. The oblique image renders everything into sharp relief. The Statue, the approach, the platform it stands on, the Sardar Sarovar dam it overlooks and more.
