Who is Anand Piramal, the man Mukesh Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani is married to?

Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's daughter Isha Ambani tied the knot with Anand Piramal on December 12 at their Mumbai residence Antilla. Prominent personalities from across the fields joined the occasion to bless the happy couple. Former First Lady of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton, former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar were among the who graced the extravagant occasion. However, many questions have come up as to who is Anand Piramal, to whom Isha Ambani is getting married?

Who is Anand Piramal?

Executive Director of Piramal Group Anand Piramal is the son of the Piramal Enterprise's Chairman Ajay Piramal and Swati Piramal. 33-year-old Anand Piramal is an Ivy League pass out, holding a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.

He founded Piramal Realty, one of India's most appreciated real estate companies, in 2012. In 2015, he also raised $434 million from Goldman Sachs and Warburg Pincus for the growth of the company which was termed as the largest private equity investments in real estate in India ever. Prior to Piramal Realty, Anand founded Piramal Swasthya, a rural healthcare initiative that treats 40,000 patients in a single day, which has won the ‘Times Social Impact’ Award and the Forbes philanthropy award.

He was previously the youngest President of the Youth Wing of the 100-year-old Indian Merchant Chambers.

Isha and Anand have known each other for a long time courtesy the relation between their families, but it was earlier this year that the latter proposed to her in Mahabaleshwar. The couple got engaged at Lake Como, Italy in September this year. 

The pre-wedding festivities had included the Sandhya Maha Aarti in the worship of Lord Shri Nath Ji and the Sangeet where Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan were among the performers. It had also seen a performance from international pop sensation Beyonce which made huge headlines.
