75 Year-Old Man Gets Imprisonment of 1 Year For Sexually Assaulting Teacher In Nashik

Nashik: A 75-year-old man has been sentenced to one year of simple imprisonment and fined Rs 15,000 by the additional chief judicial magistrate's court in Nashik for sexually harassing a woman. 

If he does not pay the fine, he will face an additional three months of imprisonment, the court noted. 

According to the police, the accused, who was a member of a school committee, had come into contact with a school teacher. 

He subsequently began harassing her and engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior, police said. 

According to the police, the teacher filed a complaint on March 2, 2017, leading the Ambad police station to register an FIR under sections 354(A) (sexual harassment) and 354(D) (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier, a labourer has been arrested for allegedly raping a four-and-half-year-old girl in Maharashtra's Palghar district.

According to the police, 19-year-old accused in connection with the incident that occurred in Jawhar taluka on Wednesday. The child's parents were at work, and she was home with her grandparents when the accused allegedly entered her house and sexually assaulted her, an official said.The accused was a labourer involved in cable laying work in the victim's locality, the official said.
