Air India Cabin Crew Member Assaulted in London Hotel Room, Airline Issues Statement

London: In a shocking incident, a cabin crew member of Air India was assaulted in her hotel room in London.

The incident happened late at night when the cabin crew member was sleeping; the airline has now issued a statement regarding the same.

Amid the ongoing protests against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, anther assault has been reported.

A cabin crew member of Air India was sleeping in her hotel room in London when she was allegedly attacked by a man.

As per reports, she was ‘dragged through the room’ and suffered bruises; she screamed for help and was eventually saved.

This comes after the cabin crew members had complained about the lack of security in the hotel.

Cabin Crew Member Faces Assault, Airline Issues Statement

An Air India spokesperson issued a statement following the incident of assault with a cabin crew member.

The statement read, “Air India accords foremost priority to the safety, security and wellbeing of our crew and staff members. We are deeply anguished by an unlawful incident of intrusion at a hotel, operated by a major international chain, that affected one of our crew members. We are providing all possible support to our colleague and their broader team, including professional counselling."

The statement further read, "Air India is also working with the local police to pursue the matter to the fullest extent of the law, and with the hotel management to ensure such incidents are not repeated. We request that the privacy of those involved is respected.”
