Assam Train Derailment: Food Grains Wagon Goes Off Tracks Near MUPA

Maligaon: Another incident of train derailment occurred in Assam after a wagon of goods train carrying food grains derailed near MUPA in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section on Thursday evening. On information, the railway officials and the railway police rushed to the spot and initiated repair and restoration work. The Northeast Frontier Railway has confirmed the incident. A senior railway official stated that a wagon of goods train carrying food grains derailed near MUPA in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section in Assam 's Maligaon. 

The official said that the derailment affected the train services, which took place at 4 pm inside tunnel number 2. 

"A wagon of goods train carrying food grains derailed near MUPA in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section. Repair and restoration work is underway," said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northeast Frontier Railway.

Normal movement is expected to be restored soon. Senior railway officers of Lumding division have proceeded to the site, the official said.

Due to the derailment, the following trains are being cancelled:

Train No. 05628 (Agartala - Guwahati) commencing journey on 31st October, Train No. 05627 (Guwahati- Agartala) commencing journey on 1" November, Train No. 05698 (Guwahati- New Jalpaiguri) commencing journey on 31 October, Train No. 05697 (New Jalpaiguri - Guwahati) commencing journey on 1st November, Train No. 15611 (Rangiya -Silchar) commencing journey on 31 October, Train No. 15612 (Silchar - Rangiya) commencing journey on 31 October, Train No. 15617 (Guwahati- Dullabcherra) commencing journey on 1st November, the CRPO said.

The official said that Train No. 15618 (Dullabcherra - Guwahati) commencing journey on 31 October, will remain partially cancelled between New Haflong and Guwahati
