Mumbai: An eyewitness has revealed chilling details of the moment when NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot at outside his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office. The former Maharashtra minister was admitted to the Lilawati Hospital in Mumbai where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. 

‘When Firing Happened…’: Eyewitness Reveals Chilling Details

Hours after Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai, an eyewitness has narrated chilling details of the exact moment when assailants opened fire at the NCP leader when he was bursting crackers.

Chatrapal Saroj, who was present nearby when Baba Siddique was shot at said, "When firing happened, there was a stampede, he could not understand what happened. At first he thought that firecrackers were being burst, but when firing happened, there was chaos."

He further said, "Police was also present here, still firing happened."

Tea Seller Where Baba Siddique Went Everyday Narrates Murder Details

Tiwari the tea seller also narrated the story of firing and his bond with Baba Siddique. He said, "Baba Siddique used to have tea everyday from my shop. When this incident happened I went there at the spot; the location is 30 metres away from this spot."

He further revealed, “There always used to be one police officer with him. When firing took place amid firecrackers. we went running everyone then we came to know what had happened. The local police deployed to manage the crowd, nabbed the accused.”

Baba Siddique Shot Dead, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang's Involvement Likely

Baba Siddique, according to police sources, was shot by three masked assailants outside his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui's office near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, Bandra East, Mumbai on Saturday evening. The former state minister was admitted to Lilavati Hospital but couldn't survive, a police official said. Mumbai Police immediately took action and two out of three assailants have been arrested and taken into custody, however, the third assailant is still on the run. Condoling the death of Baba Siddique, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured strict action in this murder.

The probe into Siddique killing has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch. It is learnt that during investigation the two arrested shooters claimed that they belong to Bishnoi Gang. As probe continues, it has come to light that the assailants were were doing recce of that area for the last 25-30 days.
