Ghaziabad: An 18-year-old was found dead near a railway track in Ghaziabad's Loni border on Sunday after being hit by a train engine in a suspected suicide case, according to police. Identified as a class 8 student, the teenager's body was found by passersby near a railway track near the Behta-Hazipur area under the Loni border police station area.

The train engine, traveling from Uttar Pradesh's Shamli to Delhi, struck Akash, according to the locomotive driver.

ACP Ankur Vihar Bhaskar Verma stated that the police are investigating the case from all possible angles. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, a woman and her 22-year-old daughter allegedly committed suicide by consuming insecticide in Bhadohi on Sunday, police said. The woman's 18-year-old son, who also consumed insecticide, is undergoing treatment at a hospital, they said.

Suman Tiwari (42) and her daughter Komal, residents of Arai village, consumed sulphas (insecticide) tablets at their home this morning, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tejveer Singh said.

Their family members rushed them to a hospital in Prayagraj district but the mother-daughter duo succumbed there, he said.
