Bomb Threat to MIT Campus, Chennai; Authorities on High Alert

Chrompet: A bomb threat email has been sent to the MIT Campus in Chennai's Chrompet; following the bomb threat, an extensive investigation and search operation has been launched and the authorities are on high alert. This is not the first time that an educational institution has received a bomb threat; multiple such threats have been sent in the past months.

Bomb Threat Email to MIT Campus, Chennai

A bomb threat email was sent to the email address of the registrar office of the Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT) Campus near Chennai in Chrompet. An investigation is underway and it has not yet been ascertained from where this email has been sent.

Authorities on High Alert, Inquiry Launched

Immediately after the bomb threat was received, the authorities of the university have alerted the police and are now on high alert. An extensive search is being conducted at the campus to ensure the safety of all the staff members and the students. Necessary precautions are being taken and further details are awaited.

Bomb Suspected at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata

In another news, an unclaimed bag found at the protest site of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital triggered a bomb scare on Thursday. After receiving the information, a bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene, and the police cordoned off the area. 

For the unversed, the protest site had been set up right in front of RG Kar Hospital by junior doctors who had been agitating for over a month against the rape-murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor on August 9.
