Flyer Finds Metal Blade in On-Flight Meal, Air India Issues Statement
Dogra stated that the metal blade was a part of the vegetable processing machine used at the facilities of their catering partner.
New Delhi: A passenger onboard an Air India flight allegedly found a metal blade in a meal served by the airlines. Soon after the matter came to light, Air India issued a statement.
Responding to the complaint, the Chief Customer Experience Officer of the Airline, Rajesh Dogra confirmed the presence of a “foreign object” in the meal of a passenger.
Dogra clarified that the metal piece was a part of the vegetable processing machine used at the facilities of their catering partner.
Issuing a statement, the Air India official said, "Air India confirms that a foreign object was found in the meal of a guest aboard one of our flights. After investigation, it has been identified as coming from the vegetable processing machine used at the facilities of our catering partner.”
Dogra said the authorities have strengthened the measures to prevent any such incidents from happening again, adding that more frequent checking will be done prior to serving meals to flyers.
“We have worked with our catering partner to strengthen measures to prevent any recurrence, including more frequent checking of the processor especially after chopping of any hard vegetable," he added.
