Srinagar: An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 struck Jammu and Kashmir on Friday at 12:26 pm. The epicentre of the quake was located in Baramulla, with a depth of 5 kilometres. Within an hour of this jolt, an aftershock hit Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir again, but the tremor was of mild intensity this time.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the estimated energy released is equivalent to 30.1 tons of TNT. No reports of damage or casualties have been reported.
