Massive Fire at Tata Electronics Manufacturing Unit in Tamil Nadu's Hosur
A massive fire broke out at Tata Electronics manufacturing unit near Hosur in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district on Saturday morning.
Chennai: A massive fire broke out at Tata Electronics manufacturing unit near Hosur in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district on Saturday morning. According to media report, the flames erupted at the cellphone manufacturing section, prompting staff to evacuate the premises.
Reports suggested that a significant property was damage as massive fire engulfed the premises.
Soon after the fire department received the information about the flames, fire brigades were pressed into service to launch a fire fighting operation to control the blaze.
Reports further suggested that the fire broke out at around 5:30am in the mobile phone accessories painting unit of the company which is located in Uddanapalli area near Nagamangalam.
After fire broke out, thick smoke engulfed the area, triggering panic among the workers and local residents. As many as seven fire tenders were deployed to evacuate all employees from the premises. However, there were no reports any injuries.
It is learnt that at the time of the fire incident, around 1,500 workers were on duty during the first shift. The cause of the fire remains unknown. The firefighting operations were underway.
"There has been an unfortunate incident of fire at our plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Our emergency protocols at the plant ensured that all our employees are safe. The cause of the fire is under investigation and we will take necessary actions to safeguard the interest of our employees and other stakeholders," Tata Electronics Spokesperson said.
