Navratri 2024

Navratri , also known as Shardiya Navratri or Sharad Navratri, is a vibrant nine-day festival that ranks among the most significant celebrations in India. The festival culminates on the tenth day, known as Vijayadashami, which symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. This day marks the immersion of Goddess Durga's idols in water, signifying her return to her celestial abode.

Celebrated with immense enthusiasm across the country, Navratri holds a profound place in Hindu culture. The festival is dedicated to worshipping Goddess Durga and her nine manifestations, with each form representing different qualities and powers. Each day of Navratri is devoted to honoring a specific aspect of the goddess, creating a rich tapestry of rituals and celebrations.

Navratri occurs twice a year: once in March-April ( Chaitra Navratri ) and again in September-October (Sharad Navratri). The Shardiya Navratri begins in the month of Ashwin, which typically falls between September and October.
