ED Seizes Original Documents Related to Siddaramaiah's Wife
Mysuru: In a major development on the ongoing Muda Scam case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized original documents related to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathamma. Among the documents acquired by the ED were two versions, one with whiteout corrections and the other without, raising serious concerns over potential document tampering.
According to sources, the ED received the original documents without whiteout after an intense round of questioning on Thursday. Two hard disks were also seized during the search.
The original document that contained Parvathi’s signature includes a specific line outlining her request for a high-value property in a prime Mysuru location. However, this line had been erased using a whitener, raising suspicions of tampering.
ED Grills Devaraj
ED officials raided the Bengaluru residence of J. Devaraj, the fourth accused in the MUDA scam. Devaraj, the original owner of the contested land, sold 3.16 acres to CM Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law, Mallikarjun, who later transferred the property to Parvathi.
The raid, which lasted over 12 hours, saw a team of four ED officials grilling Devaraj about the entire sale process. His family members were present during the raid, as ED sleuths sought detailed information on the transactions
ED Continues Investigation on Muda Scam Case
On Friday, the ED intensified its probe by raiding both the Mysuru Urban Development Authority office on Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Road and the Mysuru Taluk Office at Nazarbad. Over 20 ED officials, accompanied by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel for security, conducted extensive searches for documents related to the land allotment.
Strict security measures were enforced to ensure the integrity of the raid, with local police preventing any external interference. The ED’s investigation into the MUDA scam centers on compensatory land parcels that were allegedly allotted to Parvathi in an upscale area of Mysuru, far exceeding the value of the land initially acquired by MUDA.
